Hoyo de Monterrey

Founded in 1865 by Jose Gener, Hoyo de Monterrey is one of Havana's most historic and prestigious brands. The name 'Hoyo' (meaning 'hole' or 'valley') refers to the low-lying, fertile plantation in the San Juan y Martinez area of the Vuelta Abajo, which Gener leased in 1860. This location's unique microclimate and rich soil produce a light, aromatic, and complex tobacco. The 18 gold medals featured on its boxes celebrate international awards won between 1867 and 1900. Known for its elegant and approachable profile, it is an ideal choice for both beginners and connoisseurs seeking a delicate smoking experience.
