Founded in 1935 by Alonso Menéndez, Montecristo is the world's best-known and most widely appreciated Cuban cigar brand. Its name is inspired by Alexandre Dumas’ classic 1844 novel, 'The Count of Monte Cristo,' which was a favorite among the factory's torcedores (rollers). The iconic logo, featuring six golden swords surrounding a fleur-de-lis, pays homage to the legendary tale of honor and justice. Renowned for its unique medium-to-full flavored blend with signature notes of creamy coffee, cocoa, and nuts, Montecristo serves as the global benchmark for evaluating the quality of premium Cuban Habanos.
